Easter is here but its still snowing!

Welcome back Esther, yes, i needed to say that to myself!  What's up with this weather guys? Waiting for spring that will never come. Thought i was here to talk about cakes but we are going to talk about desserts related to Easter like Simnel Cake, Hot Cross Buns, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Chocolate Easter Eggs which was later melted into Chocolate Truffle Cakes.

Let's start with Simnel Cake: Simnel cakes have been known since at least the medieval times. They would be eaten on the middle Sunday of Lent, Laetare Sunday (also known as Refreshment Sunday, Mothering Sunday, Sunday of the Five Loaves, and Simnel Sunday), when the forty day fast finishes.

Lemon Drizzle Cake, bake all days yesterday. Its a french teatime cake. I really don't know how its related to Easter but it is! Even googled it but didn't get anything or maybe i wasn't patient enough.Well, it taste nice and i think we all should try having a slice this Easter Season.

                                                       Just a slice will do.

Hot Cross buns, yummy! In many historically Christian countries, buns are traditionally eaten hot or toasted during Lent, beginning with the evening of Mardi Gras (the evening before Ash Wednesday) through Good Friday, with the cross standing as a symbol of the Crucifixion.

Chocolate Easter Eggs, are special eggs that are often given to celebrate Easter or springtime 9Which isn't happening by the way)! As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Easter-tide. In Christianity, they symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus^. Though an egg appears to be like the stone of a tomb, a bird hatches from it with life; similarly, the Easter egg, for Christians, is a reminder that Jesus rose from the grave, and that those who believe will also experience eternal life. To cut the whole story short. I melted the chocolate and made a cake full of Dark chocolate goodness.
